Limited Scope Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

Sections 18C to 18E of the Representation of the People Act 1983

The Council is carrying out a limited scope review of Polling District and Polling Places ahead of the District and Parish Council elections in May 2019.  This is to deal with a number of specific issues affecting existing Polling Stations, either on a short or long term basis.  These range from buildings being condemned and unavailable, to improved facilities becoming available to replace poor or unsatisfactory facilities.  Attached is a schedule of polling places that we have identified for this limited scope review.

We are looking for feedback on any aspect of the allocated polling area or polling station used for some existing Polling Stations and invite representations and comments from interested persons.  Local political parties and councillors will be consulted and views are invited from residents as well as such groups or organisations as may have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.

Any elector in the Council’s area can make representations, which may include proposals for alternative polling places.

Representations should be in writing by 21 December 2018. A submission form can be downloaded from the link below.
