European Parliamentary Elections

These elections are scheduled to take place in the UK on Thursday 23 May 2019. See here for the Notice of Election. The elections will take place for all EU member countries between 23 - 26 May. All the election counts will take place on Sunday 26 May. 


Who is eligible to vote?

You must already be on the electoral register and be one of the following:

  • 18 years of age or over on polling day
  • British citizen or a qualifying Commonwealth citizen
  • citizen of the European Union (see below)
  • resident in the UK


EU Citizen Living in the UK

If you're a citizen of an EU country (other than UK, Republic of Ireland, Malta and Cyprus) then you can either vote in the UK or in your home country. You cannot vote twice. To vote in the UK you need to:

  • be registered to vote
  • complete a European Parliament Voter Registration Form (UC1/EC6) and ensure it is returned to us by Tuesday 7 May 2019. These forms have been posted out to the European electors on our register on 12 April 2019. If you have not received a form then a blank form can be found here. This form can be posted to us or scanned and emailed to 



Aylesbury Vale is within the South East Region. Nomination papers much be delivered by hand to the Regional Returning Officer or his Deputy at Room 84, West Wing Basement, Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY from Monday 15 April until 4pm Thursday 25 April 2019. Nominations need to be handed in Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm excluding bank holidays. See the Notice of Election for further information.
