What is the register of electors?

The register of electors is a list of names and addresses of every person who is eligible to vote vote within Aylesbury Vale.

It is a legal requirement to register to vote regardless of whether you intend to vote or not. You must be on the electoral register to vote in any election. The electoral register is also used for credit reference purposes. If you are not on the electoral register you may have difficulty in obtaining credit which could impact on applications for mortgages, credit cards and mobile phone contracts.

I have changed my name, how do I update the electoral register?

You will need to fill out a change of name form here and include proof of the name change (e.g. a marriage certificate or deed poll letter). We do not need to have the original evidence document posted to us. We accept a scanned copy or a clear photograph showing the evidence. Once we have this information we can update the register.
