Polling District and Polling Place Review

The Representation of the People Act 1983 places a duty on local authorities to divide the district into polling districts and to designate a polling place for each district. We also have a duty to keep these polling arrangements under review. We must conduct a full review of its polling districts and polling places every four years and the last formal review in Aylesbury Vale was in 2014. 

 

The Council is legally required to carry out a polling district and polling places review in 2019 ahead of the UK Parliamentary Election scheduled to take place on 5 May 2022.

 

We welcome any comments from electors or interested persons relating to polling districts and polling places in the Aylesbury and Buckingham Parliamentary Constituencies. Local political parties and councillors will be consulted and views are invited from residents as well as such groups or organisations as may have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.

 

The first consultation will run from 1 April 2019 until 26 April 2019. Consultation will re-open in July once we publish the draft proposals.
