The Role of the Development Management Committee

 

The Role of the Development Management Committee is to exercise the Council’s functions as local planning authority as specified in Schedule 1 of the Local Authorities (Functions and Responsibilities) (England) Regulations 2000  and any subsequent Regulations modifying or replacing those Regulations, insofar as such functions are not the responsibility of any other local authority or fall under the remit of the Strategic Development Management Committee.

 

The functions include :-

 

Imposing any condition, limitation or other restriction, or determining any other terms, on an approval, consent, licence, permission or registration granted in the exercise of its functions

 

Determining whether, and in what manner, to take enforcement action in respect of any failure to comply with any approval, consent, licence, permission or registration granted or breach of any condition, limitation or term to which any such approval, consent, licence, permission or registration is subject

 

Revoking any approval, consent, licence, permission or registration granted in the exercise of its functions.

 

Amending, modifying or varying any approval, consent, licence, permission or registration granted in the exercise of its functions or any condition, limitation, restriction or term to which it is subject

 

Whether a charge should be made, and the amount of any such charge, for any approval, consent, licence, permit or registration.

 

To deal with subsequent matters that may arise relating to high hedges which require a Member decision.

 

To consider any matter referred to the Committee by the Council, another Committee, the Cabinet or a Cabinet member which relates to functions for which the Committee is responsible
